Place an object under the mirage bowl and it creates the illusion of that object in a much smaller scale and floating on top of the bowl as a holograph. Interesting and decorative.
Price: $39

Mein wi what sort of height
Say what?
Am I the only one who finds the border between the pool and the other water obvious on these pics? Can someone please explain how this is an optical illusion?
The illusion is an illusion
The illusion is an illusion of continuity depending on the time of the day and how much water flows on the border you might be able to get a better blend. If what you have behind the pool is the sea, then you would probably have to paint the pool of a darker color to get a better effect. If you want a better blending effect, then the film of water in the border between the pool and body of water needs to be thicker; having more water "bleed" through the border means pumping more water faster into the pool; the wikipedia article talks about a film thickness "12mm to 25mm". which is about 1/2 to 1 inches. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infinity_pool
Way to explain something that
Way to explain something that was already obvious!
hehehe
Dude, chill, I also came to this site knowing how they work, but enjoyed looking at the pictures. My guess is that kids might not know how they work, so somebody actually benefits from the description. My guess is that the page is not an IQ test...
great pics
is this really something that needs to be explained to people?
Seriously
is it something that needs to be explained? Have we become so dependent on others information that we need to be told how water matching up with water creates the illusion of water begin connected? wtf people... Good pics though, made me want to have one put in.
Love the way you put the guy on the 3D image
I'd be in the water swimming all day if I had one of those. The first time I was in one of those was in a hotel in Costa Rica and I had to swim to the border to see how they did it. Once you've seen it, it doesn't need explanation, but I bet not all of us have seen these magnificent relaxing bodies of water :)
How much does an infinity pool cost?
What is the price for one of these?
Awesome
I wish I had one. What did you do the first graphic with? Google Sketch? What CAD software?
Really?
No shit. I'm pretty sure everyone knew how these were made....
Pretty cool pools man, wish I had one
You should post a bit more actually on how they are designed, what sort of height you need so that the view is perfect. I have a friend who is studying architecture and this is actually one of the subjects he enjoyed the most. Also, newer materials are allowing some pretty cool things to be combined with infinite pools. Post more images, I'll come back. Don't mind the dweebs crashing on your site.
Can't believe you all felt the urge to comment here
Actually I think the pictures are just amazing. I could be all day in one of these and just stare at the "infinite"!
